LAUNCH OF UEM SUNRISE'S BOOK DRIVE IN CONJUNCTION WITH WORLD BOOK DAY 2019

Wednesday, 24/04/2019

BukuHub, a brain child of UEM Sunrise, is a mini library or community reading space that was setup in support of the Government’s aspiration to inculcate the reading culture amongst Malaysians. This initiative is in line with the naming of Kuala Lumpur (KL) as the World Book Capital for the year 2020, by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco). The first BukuHub was launched on 15 February 2019 at the Community Hall, PPR Uda Utama in Skudai, Johor in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to support the launch of National Community Policy. Other locations of BukuHub includes Publika and Avenue K in Kuala Lumpur.

In conjunction with the annual World Book Day celebration on 23 April, UEM Sunrise Berhad will be organising a book drive programme called "BukuDrive" which will be launched by YB Hannah Yeoh, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. The purpose of this programme is to encourage the public to donate their pre-loved books to BukuHub, giving readers the access to plenty of free books to select for themselves and to reinforce the importance of reading, be it at school, home or any part of the world.

We would like to invite members of the media to the said event as scheduled below:
