INVITATION TO A RECEPTION FOR MERAKI: AN EXHIBITION OF INDIAN MINIATURE PAINTINGS BY AMI

High Commission of India invites members of the media to an evening reception hosted by Diversecity 2016 and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre.
This will be the first public viewing of a unique collection based on the dying art of Indian miniatures. The universal theme of love is captured in painstaking detail in this memorable exhibition. The viewer will lose himself in the exquisite surrounds of the countryside and nuanced intricacies of symbolism.
Ami is a young artist who hails from Mumbai; her paintings are dedicated to the age old yet abstruse concept of love. These paintings capture love in its different forms and subtleties. Ami believes each of you will relate to some or maybe all of the paintings with your own understanding of love.
Meraki comprises of only 13 works of an existing series, some new works in Ami's next series and for the benefit and experience of the visitor, some unfinished works so we can understand the process of creating these miniatures.
