LATAR 99KM HEALTHY RIDE

Members of the media are invited to attend the first-ever cycling event on LATAR Expressway namely LATAR 99KM Healthy Ride.
Details of the event are as follows:
Day/Date : Sunday 25 September 2016
Time : 6am – 12 noon
Venue : Kompleks Operasi LATAR
Work Minister Dato’ Haji Fadhilah Yusof will flag off 1,800 participants taking part in the ride along KL – Kuala Selangor (LATAR) Expressway. Present will be Kuala Selangor MP Dato’ Sri Dr Hj Irmohizam Hj Ibrahim.
The riders will traverse the full length of the expressway on both sides from Taman Templer Toll Plaza to the Ijok Toll Plaza and also along a 30-km stretch of rural roads.
A 20km fun ride will see VVIPs joining for charity and to enjoy the smooth highway. A carnival-like funfair will take place for nearby residents while Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) will sell fresh local produce.

ABOUT KL-KUALA SELANGOR EXPRESSWAY BERHAD
The 33 km LATAR Expressway links Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Selangor. Along the way, its four interchanges also adds to the connectivity of several townships such as Kuala Selangor, Assam Jawa, Ijok, Bestari Jaya (Batang Berjuntai), Kota Puteri, Puncak Alam, Shah Alam, Bukit Jelutong, Sungai Buloh, Kundang, Rawang and Selayang as well as allow for a faster, safer choice to the cities of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur from these townships.
KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Berhad (KLSEB) is the concessionaire for the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR Expressway). The Company, formerly known as Lebuhraya Assamjawa Taman Rimba Bhd ('LATAR'), was incorporated in 1996. KLSEB is a subsidiary of Bina Puri Holdings Berhad (50%) and Rafulin Holdings Sdn Bhd through its wholly-owned subsidiary Arena Irama Sdn Bhd (50%).
Construction of the LATAR KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway commenced in 2008 when a supplemental concession agreement was signed on 28 February 2008 with the Ministry of Works representing the Government of Malaysia. The LATAR Expressway was completed five months ahead of schedule, and was duly opened on June 23, 2011 by YB Dato’ Shaziman bin Abu Mansor, Minister for the Ministry of Works.
The Company has a 40-year concession on the LATAR Expressway. The concession was awarded on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme in which the Company is responsible to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the expressway.
