MEDIA ADVISORY : CIMB CLASSIC MEDIA CREDENTIAL APPLICATIONS

The CIMB Classic is now accepting media credential applications for the 2016 event. The CIMB Classic will be held at TPC Kuala Lumpur from 20 – 23 October.
The CIMB Classic is a 72-hole stroke play event combining players from three official sanctioning bodies – the PGA TOUR, the Asian Tour and the Professional Golf Association of Malaysia (PGAM). The tournament, in its seventh year, brings together top players from the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup standings, top players from the Asian Tour order of Merit and top players from Malaysia. The tournament is held at TPC Kuala Lumpur and will be the only official FedExCup event of the 2016-2017 PGA TOUR season to be held in Southeast Asia with PGA TOUR members receiving official FedExCup points.
The accreditation is strictly reserved for editorial members of the press (editors/writers/camera crew), from print and broadcast, news agencies and online media that represent a bona fide media organisation.
To apply for credentials, please visit the PGA TOUR’s media website, www.pgatourmedia.com. If you have never visited the site before, you will need to register by creating a username and password.
Once you have registered for the site, login using the username and password you created. On the top right hand corner of the screen, click the “media credentials” button. Please complete steps 1-4 in order to apply for credentials. Once you have completed step 4, please make sure to select “PGA TOUR” and “CIMB Classic” as the tournament you would like to apply for.
PLEASE NOTE – AS THE TOURNAMENT IS PART OF THE 2016-2017 PGA TOUR SEASON, YOU WILL NEED TO SELECT 2017 AS THE YEAR.
Please make sure to click the submit button at the bottom of the page. Once your credential request has been successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation email.
Please note that media credentials and parking passes will not be sent to you through the mail. Once your credential request has been approved, you will receive a media gate pass PDF via email in advance of the tournament. The gate pass will allow you to park and access the media center the first day you arrive on-site to pick up your credentials.
Passes are to be collected personally at the Media Centre, TPC Kuala Lumpur on a date to be advised closer to tournament week. Please present your ORIGINAL identification card/passport, a valid press card and your media gate pass confirming your accreditation.
Deadline for media credentials application is on 14 October 2016.
