Three Eco-Sport Projects Highlights
Langkawi Development Authority’s
'Langkawi Tourism Blueprint 2.0'
Following on to the success of Tuba Trail Run in April, organiser E-Plus Global Sdn Bhd and major supporter, the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), expanded its plan to further implement eco-sports as part of its initiative to boost domestic and international tourists. Two additional events including an Open Water SwimFest and the inaugural Machichang SkyBridge Climb will be announced to the public as part of the authority’s effort to boost tourism.
The success of pilot project Tuba Trail Run attracted over 400 participants, leading to the introduction of more eco-sports across the tropical isles of Langkawi. The three projects are part of the authority’s new Langkawi Tourism Blueprint 2.0. LADA’s 2011-2015 blueprint has garnered over 13 million tourist arrival, and 3.8 million visitor are expected for 2016.
