  UNESCO - IKIM ETHICS TEACHERS' TRAINING COURSE (ETTC)

We are pleased to announce that in collaboration with UNESCO Office in Jakarta, the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) will be organizing the ETHICS TEACHERS’ TRAINING COURSE (ETTC).

Details of the event are as follows:

Day/Date : Monday - Friday 7 - 11 November

Time : (Refer Programme)

Venue : Grand Hall of Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia (IKIM)

The objective of this course is to advance quality ethics education by building professional capacities of ethics teachers/lecturers. The course also aims to share the experiences and understanding in ethics teaching in different cultural context. The ETTC at IKIM will also be launching the ETTC project in South East Asia region, where several additional courses are already planned for 2017 by UNESCO.

The ETTC Kuala Lumpur will be delivered by a team composed of UNESCO ethics education experts from abroad (Oxford University, UK; Free University of Brussels, Belgium; Jahangir Nagar University, Bangladesh), as well as from Malaysia. The thirty selected participants of the Course have been selected from several universities from Malaysia and other countries.

The Hon. Mr. Irakli Khodeli from UNESCO Office in Jakarta and YBhg. Professor Datuk Dr. Azizan Baharuddin, Director-General of IKIM will deliver the introductory and welcoming speech at 9.30 am whilst YBrs. Mr. Imran Abdullah, Under-Secretary of International Relation Division, Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) will officiate the ETTC Kuala Lumpur. Following that, there will be a Roundtable Session/ Inter-Cultural Dialogue on Ethics Teaching in a Multi-Cultural Context in conjunction with ETTC.
