HDC ASSISTS MALAYSIAN BUSINESSES TO NAVIGATE THROUGH THE NEW INDONESIA'S HALAL LAW AND EXPLORE EXPORT OPPORTUNITIES

With over 200 million population, Indonesia remains the largest Muslim country in the world making it among the biggest potential market for Halal products and services. Indonesia is Malaysia’s sixth largest export destination. However, Malaysia export contributes to less than 1% of the total Indonesia’s Halal imports indicating that there is ample room to penetrate this market.
By November 2019, Indonesia will be implementing the Halal Product Assurance Law. It made compulsory for all products and services such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, consumer goods and many others that enter Indonesia's territory to be Halal certified. This legal framework is of strong relevance to Malaysian businesses who are exporting to Indonesia or planning to export to Indonesia.
