  3RD CHARTERED BANKER CONFERMENT AND 22ND GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) wishes to invite members of the media to cover the 3rd Chartered Banker Conferment and 22nd Graduation Ceremony. Details of the event are as follows:

Day/Date : Saturday 13 July 2019

Time : 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, Followed by Lunch

Venue : Grand Ballroom, Level 3, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur


Programme

7.30 am: Arrival of Graduates and Guests
9.15 am: Start of Ceremony
9.30 am: Ceremonial Procession
9.35 am: Welcome Address by Tan Sri Azman Hashim, FCB, Chairman of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers
10.00 am: Chartered Banker Conferment
10.50 am: Presentation of Awards and Certificates to Graduate Members
12.25 pm: Commitment to the Code of Professional Conduct
12.30 pm: End of Ceremony Followed by Lunch

Highlights of the event for media coverage (subject to change):

1. The welcome address will be delivered by Tan Sri Azman Hashim, Chairman of AICB.

2. At this event, AICB aims to highlight the importance of professional development and education in banking through our professional qualifications to equip bankers with the requisite skill sets and values that contribute to strengthening public trust. This prioritisation of ethics and good governance in banking is in line with the nation’s broader agenda to strengthen governance, accountability and transparency.

3. Over 100 prominent bankers will be conferred their Chartered Banker designations at the ceremony, and many leading bankers who are AICB members will also be present, including:

- Mr Stuart P Milne, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad

- YBhg Dato' Ong Eng Bin, FCB, Chief Executive Officer, OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad

- YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Sri Tay Ah Lek, FCB, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer, Public Bank Berhad

- Mr Abrar Alam Anwar, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bank (Malaysia) Berhad.

4. Over 1,200 AICB members will graduate from various professional banking qualifications.
