TANGERANG, Indonesia, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- Indonesia, a country with 261 million in population and a nation with the most SuperMoto rider in Asia, returns to host the FIM Asia SuperMoto Championship after receiving the baton from the season opener, Thailand. Stadium Manahan at Kota Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, expects to receive over tens and thousands of SuperMoto fans over the race weekend on 14 and 15 October 2017.
 
FIM Asia SuperMoto Championship, the region’s largest and hottest SuperMoto incepted Indonesia last year, received tremendous support from its government and motorcycle community, leading to another year of race for the country. Satheswaran Mayachandran, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Supersports Group, promoter of the race states that Indonesia is a must-go-to country when it comes to two-wheels.
 
“We are pleased that Indonesia will once again host the FIM Asia SuperMoto Championship after a successful round last year. Our return this year will bring more excitement and anticipation as the race continue to proliferate on a land that embraces SuperMoto as a regular sport. PRESSURE INCREASES FOR MALAYSIA’S MUHD HABIBULLAH
Team KTM Racing Malaysia’s Muhd Habibullah faced a downfall in Thailand with a wrong pair of tires and dysfunctional brakes, leading to multiple mistakes that have taken a hard hit on his chance for an optimistic standing.
 
“The team and I had a serious discussion and realignment of the issues faced during the Thailand round. I will return stronger to improve my standing for the subsequent rounds, and once again top the chart,” said Habibullah.
 
The championship’s grand finale will be held on 16 and 17 December 2017 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
