LIYANA AND ZUBAIR CONTINUE TO EXCEL ON SECOND DAY OF THE 12TH AMBANK SPORTEXCEL INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2017

Wednesday 06/12/2017

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- Liyana Durisic of Malaysia, continues to excel her performance in the second day of the 12th AmBank SportExcel International Junior Golf Championship 2017 at Glenmarie Golf and Country Club by topping Girl’s 15-18 category with a round of 73.

“Today was actually a good day but I made poor judgements for my shots on the 9th and 18th. I had 3 birdies in a row and it vanished with my triple on the 9th. I kept my chin up and spirit high as I entered the 2nd nine and managed to maintain a good game up to last hole. I will do my best tomorrow and may all the odds be in my favour,” commented Liyana on her today’s performance.

Zubair Firdaus, who carded a 74 in the second day, also continues to lead the Boy’s 15-18 category.

“I played reasonably well today, starting 1 under front nine but I made 4 bogeys in a row in back nine. I am quite disappointed with my finish, but 74 is okay. Hopefully I can play better tomorrow,” said Zubair.

Girl’s 13-14 category saw Angel Hii from Malaysia topping the group, with junior golfers from China emerging as leaders for Boy’s 13-14 and Girl’s U12 categories while Thailand topped the Boy’s U12 category.
