KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) & IBFIM (Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia) launched the revised Takaful Basic Examination. The launching was officiated by Encik Elmie Aman Najas, Deputy Chairman of MTA /CEO of AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. The revised Takaful Basic Examination, the licensed-to-practice certification for Takaful agents was successfully published on 15 September 2018.
 
IBFIM, as the TBE administrator since 2012, with MTA have embarked on the initiative to review the TBE contents from January 2017 to May 2018 to ensure that it is updated in line with the regulatory requirements, guidelines as well as current practices of the Takaful industry.
 
Over the last 6 years, a total of 106, 057 candidates have successfully completed TBE with an overall passing rate of 68%. TBE, a fully computerised examination conducted at 21 examination centres nationwide, is currently available in both Bahasa Melayu and English version, and will be made available in Mandarin in January 2019. As at 23 September 2018, 897 candidates have registered for the revised examination nationwide.
 
Moving forward, IBFIM will launch the Leadership & Agency Management Program (LAMP) certification, a program dedicated for Takaful agents to develop their leadership skills in advancing their career.
