KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) is organising a one-day free programme for members of the public on the 27^th October 2018. City Hall is the venue sponsor and the event is being co-organised with a host of financial institutions namely the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Inland Revenue Board (IRB), Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM), Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM), Agensi Kaunseling & Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) and Private Pension Administrator (PPA).
 
The programme is recognised by the Securities Commission Malaysia as an investor educational initiative under the InvestSmart banner. MFPC recently received an award from the Securities Commission (SC)  at the InvestSmart fest 2018 for ‘Investor Educational Initiatives & Facilitating the Growth of Investments’ which recognizes companies, public organizations and NGOs that contribute in the financial industry. MFPC’s ‘My Money & Me’ programme has also received the UNESCO’s Wen Hui Award for Educational Innovation.
 
“It is an honour to receive this award as it is reflective to our efforts in elevating the importance of financial management in our daily life. I believe that financial literacy should start at the earliest age in order to get positive long-term result in the near future. We provide various sections of the society with quality financial planning education through the various programmes that we organise as we want to ensure the populace have proper planning in finances which ultimately leads to enhanced emotional well-being”, said Mr Michael Kok Fook On, President of Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC).
 
MFPC is attempting to further engage the audience in this session by using a mobile gamification application. Participants who have actively participated in the day’s session stand to win an IPAD and an OPPO phone among various other gifts.
 
It will be launch at our final financial planning workshop for youths and publics at Auditorium Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur on 27 October 2018.
