Firstly, I would like to extend the greetings and well-wishes of the Menteri Besar of Johor, as he could not attend to this event due to unavoidable commitments.  Although he is physically not here, I do hope that his speech will be able to accommodate his absence today.
 
Therefore, allow me to deliver his speech and messages for this Afternoon.

Ladies and gentlemen,

First and foremost I would like to congratulate ORGKHIM Biochemical Holding for the Grand Opening of its new enterprise here in Johor – Norman Process Oils Malaysia Plant Sdn. Bhd.
 
Protecting the environment and applying innovation is both the key policy for the Government. This biochemical production facility is indeed a clear demonstration of how technology can be used to create an end-product that is valuable and environmental-friendly.
 
We welcome this facility which will be the first Russian plant in Malaysia producing “Green” noncarcinogenic extender oils for the production of tires, synthetic rubbers and rubber compounds in Malaysia.
 
This new “Green” noncarcinogenic extender oils will be an effective alternative to the conventional extender oils that is known for its risk of radiation exposure which will lead to the formation of cancerous disease.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize that this project complements The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a standard that is adopted by all United Nations Member States as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by year 2030.
 
Congratulations to ORGKHIM Biochemical Holding for showing its commitment in supporting the SDGs in line with the Government aspiration of developing a nation that is sustainable and environmentally safe.
 
Ladies and gentlemen,
 
I am pleased that ORGKHIM Biochemical Holding has chosen to make use part of Kompleks Perindustrian Tanjung Langsat to set up its facility. We welcome such investment that brings high-end technology, environmental solutions, and jobs to our community.
 
Apart from the main product, this facility has created about 80 new employment opportunities which allow more jobs for Johor youth that are currently working outside to return to their hometown and contribute to the state’s economic development.
 
This project will present investment of over RM190 million to the local economy, therefore, contributing both directly and indirectly to the life of the state and to Malaysia as a whole.
 
Having said that, this historical event marks the establishment of solid commercial and industrial relationships between Russia and Malaysia as well as opens a gate to further development of partnership in Southeast Asia and introduces Malaysia to the field of production of innovative safe petrochemical products for world tire and rubber industry.
 
I would also like to encourage all other Russian investors, to follow ORGKHIM’s example and venture with new projects in Malaysia including in Johor the state that ranks number one in Malaysia in bringing in foreign investments.
 
This event only proves once again that Russian-Malaysian cooperation brings fruitful results thus I would like to congratulate all of us and wish Norman Process Oils Plant prosperity and achievement of all the goals ahead.
 
Through this smart collaboration, I hope it can also be one of the platforms to promote Johor internationally in line with the Visit Johor 2020 campaign next year!
