This event is organized by Taiwan's Bureau of Foreign Trade (MOEA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The cutting-edge healthcare products and technologies from Taiwan featured during the networking include anti-aging treatments using cell therapy, health checks designed to improve personal health management, tailor-made genetic testing, follicular unit extraction hair transplant technology, bladeless cataract surgery, aesthetic and ocular plastic surgery and other high-quality healthcare services.

Among the participating institutions are the Taipei Beitou Health Management Hospital, Nobel Eyes Institute, Merrier Beauty Institute, Hayashi Hair Transplant Clinic, Mendel Global Biotech, 3i BioMed Group, and Jiale Color Life Business Co., Ltd.

Taiwan is a global leader in the medical field and is known for its high-tech equipment, outstanding medical professionals and high-quality medical care quality that ranks as one of the best in the world. The medical industry has been prominently featured by CNN of the United States and The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) from the UK, putting Taiwan's outstanding medical service on par with many developed nations. At present, Taiwan is home to a 13 Joint Commission International (JCI) certified hospital which is a testament to the standard of care offered in Taiwan. According to figures from "Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare", more than 420,000 foreigners used medical services in Taiwan in 2018, of which more than one third are from Southeast Asia. Malaysia makes up 20,000 of the number and such encouraging figures are signs that Taiwanese medical service has gained international recognition.

According to Ms. Tasha Hsiao, Director of Taiwan Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, Taiwan's medical industry is renowned globally for its expertise in liver transplant, artificial reproduction, cardiovascular treatment, joint replacement, aesthetic care and cancer treatment. TAITRA has been actively promoting Taiwanese medical services globally over the years to huge success. In addition to frequent industry exchanges such as today's event, Taiwan Expo that has been held in Malaysia since 2017 has also been instrumental in promoting Taiwanese industries to Southeast Asia counterparts.
