  PRESS STATEMENT DIRECTOR GENERAL OF HEALTH MALAYSIA RESULTS OF THE COVID-19 TESTS FOR THE WESTERDAM CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS STILL REMAINING IN KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- At the Press Conference on 16 February 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia had announced that the remaining six (6) passengers of the Westerdam cruise ship are currently at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) awaiting to board their respective outbound flights. Four (4) are United States nationals, and two (2) are Dutch nationals. They are all currently in good health condition.

The results for the COVID-19 detection tests conducted on 16 February 2020 just received from the Institute for Medical Research (IMR) show that they are NEGATIVE for COVID-19 infection. The related embassies have been informed accordingly of these results and they will be allowed to continue with their respective outbound flights to their next destination.
